Uncharted: The Lost Legacy will launch on August 22, 2017.

Sony and Naughty Dog first announced Uncharted: The Lost Legacy at PlayStation Experience in December 2016. The game is scheduled to launch on August 22, 2017 exclusively for PlayStation 4.

The story of Nathan, Sully, and company came to an end in Uncharted 4, so Naughty Dog decided to focus on other characters for this stand-alone expansion: Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross. In this game, the two get wrapped up in an quest to find an ancient artifact in India. Let’s take a look at everything we’ve seen so far about Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.

E3 2017 news and updates

Sony kicked off its E3 2017 conference with an action-packed new trailer for Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Here it is:

Afterwards, we got to go hands-on with a 10-minute slice of the game, and it impressed the hell out of us.

That’s all the news from E3 2017. Now let’s go back to the beginning to see everything released so far about this game.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy announced

The first time we heard about this new Uncharted chapter came during PSX 2016, where Sony showed a reveal demo.

Story details emerge

At a panel later in the show, Naughty dog offered more details about what to expect in terms of setting and story. The game’s director said The Lost Legacy is “very much Chloe’s story,” and suggested it will take place in more environments than just what’s shown in the demo.

Later we learned even more about the story, including that it takes place six months after the events of Uncharted 4. If you’re a fan of the expansive Madagascar level in Uncharted 4, you’ll be pleased to learn The Lost Legacy contains the single largest level ever to appear in an Uncharted game. And although some characters from the series may make cameos, Nathan Drank won’t appear in the game at all.

The Lost Legacy could be 10 hours long

How long is a typical single-player expansion? The Last of Us: Left Behind was just a couple of hours long. Word came in April that The Lost Legacy could be roughly five times longer. That’s also when Naughty Dog announced the price and release date ($40 and August 22, 2017).
